QUESTION #6: EXPLANTION

A family having a dinner together are talking about what day of the week it is today (the day they are having this conversations).

Father: Hello everyone, tomorrow is Saturday, so we should go swimming.

Mother: what's wrong with you, I think today is Monday or Thursday.

Big Sister: You guys are all wrong, the day after tomorrow is Monday.

Big Brother: Today could be Wednesday, Monday, or Sunday.

Younger Sister: two days ago was Sunday.

Younger Brother: Today is not Tuesday.

If only one of them is right. What day it is today? And who is right?

Answer: Tuesday. Younger Sister.

How to solve:

Indicate what day they mean could possibly be today. If it's mentioned twice by two people, then it's not true. (Because only one is right).

Tuesday is only mention once. That's why it's Tuesday.

Father: Hello everyone, tomorrow is Saturday, so we should go swimming. (friday)

Mother: what's wrong with you, I think today is Monday or Thursday. (thursday, monday)

Big Sister: You guys are all wrong, the day after tomorrow is Monday. (saturday)

Big Brother: Today is actually Wednesday, Monday, or Sunday. (wednesday, monday, sunday)

Younger Sister: two days ago was Sunday. (Tuesday)

Younger Brother: Today is not Tuesday. ( monday, wednesday, thursday, friday, saturday, sunday)

Answer: 74

Solution:

(9-4)² + (12-7)² = 50
