Late this evening, multiple reports of the GCash app disappearing from the Google Play Store started spreading. True enough, when you search for GCash in the Google Play Store, it is nowhere to be found.

Even a direct link to the app store shows negative results from the app store.

On the other hand, GCash continues to appear and be available from Apple’s iTunes App Store and Huawei’s AppGallery so this incident is only isolated to the Google Play Store.

GCash’s official Facebook page did not make any announcement regarding the removal of the app but has posted warnings against fake news that are being spread in an attempt to use the removal of the app to scam GCash users.

A similar incident was recorded back in April 2019 where GCash was also temporarily removed from the app store 205 and no explanation were given.

GCash is updating some features of the app for android users and is closely working with Google to make it available on the Play Store again. For users who wish to download the app
from the Google Play Store, kindly stay tuned to our official social media accounts for more updates.

Current GCash users can continue to use the app and they can rest assured that their accounts and funds are safe and secure.

The GCash app remains available on the Apple App Store and the Huawei App Gallery. We remind our users to not download the GCash app from untrusted sources.

Peddlers of fake news and misinformation should be warned that GCash is ready to take legal action against them for misleading the public.
