Mommy, I Love You!

Featured Replies

Cholo woke me up one morning in the most wonderful way. He touched me softly and said in the sweetest voice, "Mommy, I love you." It was first thing in the morning, so I hadn't done anything to earn his affection. I hadn't made him breakfast or read him a story. I hadn't bought him anything. As I looked down at his precious face, I realized he didn't even want anything in return. What an amazing feeling. I sat there smiling, knowing without a doubt I was special to him.

Isn't this a wonderful example of how we should demonstrate love for our heavenly Father? How delighted would God be to hear, "I love you, Lord," each morning before we ask anything of him? Wouldn't it please God to hear how much we appreciate him before he answers our prayers or a blessing is given? Can you imagine the joy on his magnificent face when we exhibit love in such an unconditional way? We can learn a lot from our children.

I encourage you to take a few moments today to tell your little ones thank you for all they teach you. They are such blessings. Most importantly, I hope you will take time each day to tell our Lord and Savior how much you love him, not because of what he has done for you, but for who he is. No one deserves it more.
