Black Saturday
This is referred as Holy Saturday or Easter Saturday in other jurisdictions. In the Philippines, both religious and secular authorities refer (see President’s Proclamation 150, for instance) to the Saturday after Good Friday as Black Saturday. This day commemorates Jesus lying in the tomb until his resurrection on Easter Sunday. It is a day of great mourning. Black is a symbol of death and mourning.

 

BLACK SATURDAY REFLECTIONS:

JESUS said "It is finished."  His physical battle ended on the cross but the Spiritual battle as He went down to Hell to conquer the grave begins. I can only imagine how He fought Satan and all his demons while He was there for you and me. He experienced Hell for our sake - The filthiness, the unimaginable putrid smell and the ultimate wrath of God. 

Three days JESUS endured the punishment that would have been for us. This is the GOD WHOM WE SERVE!  THERE ARE NO WORDS TO EXPRESS HIS GREATNESS! He has done truly great things for all of us.  And for this we should forever be grateful. FOR THIS WE SHALL ALWAYS BE IN AWE OF HIM. 

All the days of our lives let us fellowship in PRAISING, GLORIFYING, HONORING AND LOVING JESUS CHRIST, OUR LORD and SAVIOR!

Sabado de Gloria o "Black Saturday ".

Matapos malagutan ng hininga si Hesus ay pinuntahan ni Jose ng Arimathaea si Pilato upang kunin ang Kanyang Katawan (Mark 15:43). Ibinigay ni Pilato ang Katawan ni Hesus at dinala ito ni Jose sa libingan kung saan Siya ilalagak.

Sinundan ng mga kababaihan ng Galilee si Jose at nagsabing sila ay tutulong sa pag-aayos ng Katawan ni Hesus. Sila ay umuwi at hinanda ang mga pabango at unguento para sa Katawan ni Hesus, ngunit inabutan na sila ng araw ng sabbath kung kaya't sila ay nagpahinga muna (Luke 23:55-56).

Ang Sabado de Gloria ay nagpapaalala sa atin na tayo'y maglaan ng panahon upang makapagpahinga at ihanda ang ating sarili sa mga bagay na maaaring dumating at mangyari. Patuloy tayong magdasal at humingi ng kapatawaran sa Kanya, at alalahanin lagi na ang pagkakaligtas ng buong mundo ay bunga ng sakripisyo ni Hesus sa krus.

Taimtim po natin itong gunitain, at patuloy po nating ipagdasal ang paggaling ng buong mundo.
