How to Create a Logic Grid Game

First Step:

Think of a minimum of 5 categories.

For example:

Name, Age, City, Favorite Food, Favorite Color

Second Step:

Fill the categories with information.

For example:

Names: Mae, Jhan, Tayme, Regina, Paul

Ages: 15, 20, 25, 30, 35

Cities: Pasay, Baguio, Laguna, Cavite, Quezon

Favorite Foods: Hotdog, Banana, Icecream, Pizza, Barbecue

Favorite Colors: Red, Yellow, Blue, White, Black

This becomes a 5x5 Logic Grid Game.

Third Step:

Match the categories randomly. This is up to you. (This becomes the answer to your logic grid game)

Here I show it to you step by step:

Forth and last Step:

Create your clue statement. Make sure each of your statement has at least two information from one column (1,2,3,4,5) and/or two information from one row. (A,B,C,D,E). The more the better.  You can also mixed it up. The clue is for you enjoy, make it tricky. You can be creative. You just have to make sure the information you talk about is in the same column or row.

Each Row is an information about a person. ( Arrange based on category order and is also the Answer to your Logic Grid)

Row A - Mae, 20 years old, from Laguna, loves blue and pizza.

Row B  - Jhan 35 years old, from Pasay, loves black and hotdog.

Row C - Tayme 25 years old, from Baguio, loves yellow and icecream.

Row D - Regina, 15 years old, from Quezon, loves red and banana.

Row E  - Paul, 30 years old, from Cavite, loves white and barbecue.

Universal Clue, to tell that these people are not the same person.

The five people are:

  • The person that named Mae.
  • The person that lives in Pasay.
  • The person that loves Icecream.
  • The person that wear a red shirt
  • The person that is 30 years old.

(All from column 1)

For example:

1. The 20 years old who wears a blue shirt bought a hotdog for someone who lives in Pasay, who's 10 years older than the person who lives in Baguio.  (Two from A, and Two from 4, Two from C)

2.  The person who loves Barbecue is the second oldest of them all.

(Two from E, and Two from 3)

3. The hotdog lover is the oldest. (Two from B)

4. Tayme and the hotdog lover are not 15, 20, or 30 years old.

5. The person who bought a hotdog actually loves pizza. (We know this person is 20 years old and loves blue base on clue number 1)
