How BenLotus Started
The website now known as BenLotus began its journey on May 16, 2017, but its roots extend further back. Initially, it was BR-forums.com, a hub for Battle Realms enthusiasts and LifetimeStream members. The transition to BenLotus meant starting anew, as the previous site's data was irretrievable.
The story traces back to 2013 when Ben, the founder, established a site focused on Battle Realms. Concurrently, he managed a group named LifetimeStreamer, offering them an attractive deal: unlimited monthly premium access for just $20.00. The integration of LifetimeStream activities within the Battle Realms Forums was a strategic move, and Ben's commitment to this service persists.
Interestingly, Ben and I often got mixed up by the LifetimeStream community due to our interchangeable email signatures, 'Ben' and 'Dan'.
A significant shift occurred on August 9, 2018. My visit to the Symbianize forums revealed a struggle among its members to obtain free premium memberships. Recognizing our capability to provide these services effortlessly, Ben and I agreed to extend our help. This led to the public opening of BenLotus registrations, initially promoted on the Symbianize forums. The site's popularity soared, particularly as Symbianize, then 13 years old, was rumored to be closing down. This drove many of its members to seek a new online community, resulting in about 700 new registrations on BenLotus in just ten days.
The momentum didn't stop there. On August 19, 2018, we reached out to members of PHCorner, witnessing a similar need for premium access. Following this, our community grew organically, with members inviting friends and acquaintances from various forums. The growth continues, with new members joining regularly, each finding a welcoming home at BenLotus.
